Dear Mom,

These days I learned about how much I depend on you when you're far away from me. I learned to admit the feeling of needing you better than anyone, more than anything in this whole world. Because for me, you're not just a mother. You're my bestfriend, my best listener, my teacher, my anchor, and my number one confidant. You're the strongest, the most beautiful woman I've ever known. You're relentlessly compassionate, gentle, and kind. You're the high definition of how a woman can be tough but still have a heart pure of gold. You're the definition of how a woman can be soft, but never weak or helpless.

You taught me to use my heart in every single thing I do. To always be soft, to see the good in every people I meet, and if I couldn't find it, then I had to look harder. Because of you, I learn that not every people who came into our life will come along with a good intention for us, but thats fine. Because no matter how bad they treated us, there are still many reasons to treat them otherwise. It's you who always taught me that being kind has nothing to do with other people. It's us who should treat other people with love and respect, no matter what they look like, where they come from, or the stains of their past.

You taught me that a woman should be strong, self sufficient, independent, and fearless. Because of you, I know that a woman has a power do whatever they want to do in life or be anything they want to be. Nothing should hold back their potential. Not a man, not even a gender stereotype that she was just 'a woman'.

You taught me to live my life honorably. To do the right thing even when no one's looking. To always speak the truth regardless of how hard it is. And to always have courage to stand up for myself and others even when the whole world demands us to be silence. Because of you, I'm not afraid stand for what is right for me even though I know the whole world are against me. I'm not scared to have my own opinions and speak up or fight for my personal beliefs. You told me there's nothing to be scared about being the only one who stand alone and do the right thing, because someday, they might be the one following us.

Thankyou for setting the perfect example of what kind of woman your girls should be when they grow up. You're the one I have always looked up to. The only person in the world who understands me better than anyone. The hug I'm seeking when I feel happy or teribbly sad, and the smile I'm looking for after going thru a bad day. You have no idea how much I was lucky to be your daughter and have your presence in every single day of my life. Thankyou for everything you do and you have done for me, Mum. I love you beyond words and I thank God every single day for making me your daughter. Can't wait to see you soon.
